Itia was a dream of Mamá Carmelina Ushigua. Today, her children are reviving her dream and beginning to build and plant a center for healing. Itia's dream is to continue preserving the vision of planting and protecting natural medicine.
Being of the Amazon and of the Sápara offspring, Mamá Carmelina’s children feel a great responsibility to resume the great dream of their mother and to save that which is most valuable and essential of the Sápara culture: rescuing medicinal plants and preserving and developing their knowledge and use so the wisdom can be passed down to future generations and shared with the world.
